  • 21 Years: Richard Linklater Official Trailer 1 (2014)

This is a super good documentary on one of my all-time favorite filmmakers–he hit right when I needed him and to see the respect that he has since earned is very enjoyable. The movie is a rather light fare with reflections and anecdotes, but it is very worth watching.

  • 75. In Peace and Silence you Grow

Obedience is a powerful solvent of all desires and fears Just turn away from all that occupies the mind; do whatever work you have to complete, but avoidnew obligations; keep empty, keep available, resist not what comes uninvited. In the attentive and thoughtful reader, they will ripen and bring out flowers and fruits. Wordsbased on…

  • 52. DOLL HOUSE

Some parents of children with cognitive disabilities are seeking cosmetic procedures to make the children appear younger than they are. Parents who inquire about surgery want either to align the child’s visual appearance with his or her mental capacity or intellectual age, or erase a “delayed” appearance altogether, such as altering the face of a…

  • Vertigo

    Greatest. Movie. Ever. Made. Period.

  • Annihilation

I feel like I already reviewed this, which likely may be the point. I really loved the special effects, characterization, and energy of this film. Also, I have a strong attraction for Jennifer Jason Leigh, but I do not know why–something from my childhood is definitely triggered by her

  • Ready player one

I liked this movie–not as well as the poorly written book–but still a very fun adventure romp! The plot is rather shallow, the adventure elements are predictable, but the special effects are amazing. I saw this with Fred and Jane–it was Fred’s bachelor party!

  • Julian Schnabel: A Private Portrait (2017)

https://www.imdb.com/videoembed/vi2276178201 A fun documentary–mostly praising the artist who was hated when I was in school (it was nice to see another side of him). The early stuff was great–I had no idea he had a love of surfing. It was nice to see the ex-wives, clearly another example of the risks of leaving your first…

  • Burden

A great and highly recommended Documentary on Orange County Artist Chris Burden who has been stolen by Los Angeles. So much of this is so good–specifically, the end section in which the Artist finds his home.  Just brilliant!

  • California Typewriter

This is a completely fantastic documentary about Typewriter culture. I recently saw it on Hulu after missing it in theaters and I am so glad I did! https://player.vimeo.com/video/180840528 Literally made me want to buy a typewriter as soon as it was over!

  • 24 Hour Comic

This was a very fun movie that documented a 24 Hour Comic event in Portland. It was playful and fun and captured a lot of why comics still matter. A fun Documentory.
