Adventure
Welcome to Tepest—a place where hospitality feels just a little too warm… and every smile hides something deeply unsettling.
Travelers arrive in the village of Viktal to find a community that seems strangely perfect: generous hosts, free lodging, and an open invitation to partake in an upcoming festival known as the Tithe. The villagers are devout, their reverence for a mysterious nature figure called Mother shaping every part of their lives. Guided by their calm but intense leader—and a circle of elders marked by a chilling, shared trait—this faith runs deeper than it first appears.

Beneath the charm, though, something is off.

The land itself feels alive with unease. Rituals repeat. Celebrations carry an edge of urgency. The longer outsiders stay, the more they sense that this village thrives on cycles—traditions that aren’t just symbolic, but necessary.
And then there are the children.
At certain times, powerful magic reshapes the natural order, bringing forth strange, uncanny beings unlike anything adventurers have seen before—creatures stitched from imagination, instinct, and something darker. These manifestations are unpredictable, bizarre, and deeply tied to the fate of Tepest itself. Their presence warps the land, stirs the weather, and draws the entire village into a rising tension that can’t be ignored.
This adventure blends folk horror, creeping dread, and surreal fantasy into a story where:
- Kindness might be a trap
- Rituals have real consequences
- Nature is not gentle—it’s watching
- And the truth hides just beneath the surface
If your players love eerie mysteries, moral unease, and confronting the unknown in a place that feels safe until it absolutely isn’t—Horror in Tepest delivers a haunting, unforgettable journey.
