  • X The Wheel of Fortune

The Book has the legend of Saturn swallowing his children.

It talks about Centrum In Centri Trigano (“The central thing in the middle of three other things”).

It describes the card as a central image of the universe.

“Fortune is not the same as luck. We make our own luck and follow our own destiny. Good fortune comes from the still centre which contains the very heart of ourselves”

“if we realise our own power to create a beneficial future and then trust in that vision, we shall become the still figure, master of our own universe.”

  • CASE 58: "Getting Despised" in the Diamond Sutra

    The Diamond Sutra says,

“It is about getting despised by other people.

If you are to come into hell because of your sins in your previous life,

these sins will be extinguished because you are despised by the people of this world.”

  • CASE 57: Gonyon’s One "Thing"

Venerable Gon’yo asked Joshu, “How is it when a person does not have a single thing?”

    Joshu said, “Throw it away.”

Gon’yo said, “I say I don’t have a single thing. What could I ever throw away?”

Joshu said, “If so, carry it around with you.”

  • I like to look at the stuff I can’t afford at Paradise Pen

I am still very much into pens, even though I am currently downgraded to using mostly sharpies for everything.

  • CASE 56: Misshi and the White Rabbit

When Uncle Misshi and Tôzan were walking together, they saw a white rabbit run by in
    front of them.

    Misshi said, “How swift!”

    Tôzan said, “In what way?”

Misshi said, “It is just like a person in white clothes being venerated as a prime minister.”

Tôzan said, “You are such an elderly and respectable man, and still you say something like that?”

Misshi said, “Then how about you?”

Tôzan said, “A noble of an ancient house is temporarily fallen into poverty.”

  • Ten of Disks

We cannot expect energy to flow freely in our lives if we hoard it, and try to hang on to it.

  • Garage Cleaning

Lisa had been asking me to clean the garage for a while. After Jacks soccer game it came down to work, novel, or garage. I went with the garage, but a fun soundtrack followed.

I am not sure how many people have ever cleaned their garage listening to Prince. I am pretty sure that even my friends in MN do not listen to his purple majesty while cleaning. But Funk puts the fun in anything–and this spaced out hippie record is one of my favorite by the purple one. Tasks got off to a very good start.

Next up I went with some Eno. I was hoping for some kind of techno machine rythem music, but got this instead. A rather noisy early record from the king of all sound, but fun never the less–I missed a lot of it because I was in and out of the garage so much and it did not really get me in the cleaning mood. I am still not sure what the reason for this record is, but I am glad that I tried it + I am really glad it is in my arsenal.

Massive. This is the one that got Lisa into the garage worried about what the neighbors would think. This record is so much better on vinyl. This record should be played every morning at city hall when the flag is put up. A great fun record that really made my work great.

    RZZZZZ!

I put this on for Lisa, but only listened to the first side. A good record, but I was done.
