  • IX The Hermit

“the teaching/learning process is often one of aloneness and solitude.”

“He has reached the point in his journey where nobody else can help – he must rely on inner resources, previous experiences and sheer faith in the light which leads him.”

“the directions of the still inner voice may be clearly heard and interpreted.”

“give yourself room to be awestruck, delighted, inspired.”

“thoughts are tools that we invest with far too much importance a lot of the time”

  • XVII The Star

“hope, regeneration, vision and new life”

“you know somehow that life is just about to become easier and brighter. Life’s forces combine to assist rather than hinder.”

“We have removed self-criticism and concentrated instead on our skills and strengths.”

“Every man and woman is a star”

I drew this card after one of the single most vivid and odd dreams of my life.

  • Fantastic Four: Books of Doom

I got this from the Newport Beach Public Library. I read it in two days. I did not really like it.

Doom’s childhood, more focus on magic, the war to become king–all told very seriously. This comic lacks character, charisma, charm, cunning–the story telling is straight–the denouement of the women being locked in the cell makes no sense. The video of interviews are absurd. Over all I was no more impressed with the villany of Dr Doom then when I started.

I was not a fan before, and this did not increase my love for the character.

  • CASE 61: Kempô’s "One Line"

A monk asked Master Kempô in all earnestness, “In a certain sutra it says, ‘Ten-direction Bhagavats, one Way to the gate of nirvana.’ I wonder where the Way is.”

Kempô lifted up his stick, drew a line and said, “Here it is.”

The monk told Unmon about this and asked him.

Unmon said, “This fan jumps up to the heaven of the thirty-three devas and adheres to the nose of the deva Taishaku. When a carp in the eastern sea is struck with a stick, it rains torrents as though a tray of water is overturned.”

  • Where the Wild Things Are

Jack, Kate, and I saw this from the front row of the Starplex. Connor, Donnovan, and Sean were also there, but they did not want to sit in the front–so we really did not sit together, which was odd.

It was pouring rain while we waited out side for tickets–we were 30 minutes early. We got a large popcorn. Jack got a strawberry icecream bar, Kate got a neopolitan bar–I at the vanilla section of kates bar.

Because of the rain, we drove to the theater–it was a fun drive back in this amazing downpour.

The movie was amazing–a fantastic dark retelling of a childhood favorite. It was crazy scary at times–characters went in and out of emotional stability. Over all it was a classic film that I will need to see again–the tracking of the running scenes from the front row was a headache. The washed out beach scenes and desert scenes were awesome. The forest was fantastic. Lots of nature stuff–even the sea scenes ruled.

I need to do more practice on what it was really all about.

  • Knight of Cups

“the fiery aspect of water”–represents a contradition, a potential change in Mood. This is all good news.

“Suit of Cups is all about love and loving relationships”

“the management of tellurgic energy (this is the stuff that flows through leylines)”

“think about the ways in which energy flows through your home.”

“Affirmation: I align myself with natural energies, and benefit from their strength.’”
