  • Donuts, Trades, & DNA

Another fun morning of Magic with the Tuesday Crew.

    Lisa bought donuts.

The kids are getting very good & the games were awesome.

Jelly filled is the doughnut of choice & they do get messy.

Jack was on fire & did not loose this morning.

     Evan is playing well

Cassidy still needs some more deck tech–I do not think he has been to an event yet, so his card supply is not a good as the other kids.

Dylan, who I hope will be the rules lawyer, is playing well–but does not have a very good deck either. His DNA Sculpture was amazing, however.

Side view of Jack in action.

Derek has great red dragon sleeves.

I recently got the simic sleeves for my simic deck which is currently a mess–I am playing 80 cards.

I traded Andrew for two more Swan Songs!

I traded Matt for the CHROMANTICORE!

    a great set of trades!

  • Great Hart

So far the best Born of the Gods card that I have received!

The great hart stood like a statue, its hide painted gold by the dawn. The Champion laid down her weapons and stepped forward within an arm’s length of the beast. The hart, sacred to Heliod and bathed in the god’s own light, bowed to the Champion, marking her as the Chosen of the Sun God.—The Theriad

Jack loves it so much he has framed a Foil Great Hart for his bed side table!

and my quest for Christopher Moeller’s original art begins!

  • CHOC Infusion Center

Jack had his infusion at CHOC–we used to play video games while he was hooked up but lately we have been playing magic & watching youtube videos.

He has moved up a weight class for Benadryl and now he often falls asleep while getting his medicine–this is good because time goes by quickly.

we will be back at CHOC in 8 weeks.

  • UCLA Jules Stern Eye Institute

Jack had an eye exam at UCLA this week that involved a lot of testing, which was great news for us because it meant we could bring our decks!

the office had a fantastic end table that we could use–but it was pretty crowded.

and we had to use the couch arms to store stuff which kept falling off between the cushions.

The office staff thought we were awesome–and we spent a lot of time explaining magic to to some of the other patients.

Eventually we were able to move to a central coffee table that had a lot more space.

After the eye exam we went to lunch at Native Foods at the Camp.

Soul Bowl is still the greatest thing on earth.

The sunset was amazing when we got home.

overall not a bad day at the doctors.
