  • Mac & Cheese, Apple, and Cyrstal Light

Mac & Cheese, Apple, and Cyrstal Light

Day two of my all M&C all the time.

    Started using phone.

  • Chili, Tortilla, Apple, & Water

This was a can of Chili that Lisa had just brought home from the store–she is doing weight watchers and she told me this was 5 points. The tortilla used spray butter and garlic powder. I ate the apple later with cold coffee.

  • Ratatouille, Garlic Bread, Pear, & Flat Diet Coke

For this lunch I finished off the Ratatouille that Jack, Kate, Lisa, and I had made after watching the recent Pixar film. The Garlic toast was made with a lot of SmartChoices butter–not the spray stuff Lisa likes me to use–Garlic Powder, Paprika, Salt, Pepper. I used the bread to soak up the Ratatouille sauce which ruled. The Diet Coke was left over from Del Taco which we got after our flight in from NY. I had the Pear later in the car, it may have been the best pear ever.

  • Vessia

Went with Lisa, John, and Emmy for St. Valentine’s Day. Steadman had given me a gift certificate for watching his mail. It was a very nice night–lots of fun and games. The food was medium. I had MOZZARELLA ALLA GENOVESE which was excellent–great cheese, fresh tomato, & really good pesto–there was a lot of pepper, but not too much oil. A really good dish. DELLA CASA salad was odd and bitter. Not very good at all. For my main course I had MELANZANE ALLA PARMIGIANA & RAPINI (Broccoli rabe sauté with garlic and olive oil)–the eggplant was awesome–very thinly sliced and really good. The Broccoli was a little over cooked, too much oil, not enough salt, the garlic could have used some work–server a little cold, not that great. But the eggplant was so good I did not notice.

Lisa had PASTA ALLA CHECCA which was good, but not amazing. Emmy had RIGATONI CON BROCCOLI which had really good onions & was kind of sweat. John did the blackened Ahi special–which was raw in the middle.

The Deserts were great–banana chocolate cake, tiramisu cake, and chocolate covered hazelnut chocolate thing. All very fine–I liked the chocolate covered hazelnut thing the best, but it was all good.

    Service was fantastic.

A great Valentines night was had.

  • Pirates of the High Seas

Lisa, Jack, Kate, my Mom, and I went to see this kids classical concert at the New Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. It is not that new, but the have added a new sculputure since I was last there in November.

The sculputure is horrible and actually detracts from the awesome architecture. Additionally, they have added some white flagstone sitting areas that look horrible.

The concert ruled–lots of ocean classical stuff, ended with Yo-Ho Yo-Ho A Pirates Life For Me from the Pirates of the Carribean. The kids really enjoyed it.

Afterwards, we had lunch at Macaroni Grill which ruled and then went to California Scenario by Naguchi which is still one of my favorite art pieces in Orange County.

A great time was had by all.
