  • Scourge of the Sword Coast–D&D Encounters S17 S8

Mercenary Market has the biggest and smallest dice.

We started the night at Chipotle–again. Jack had a blow out.

DM Brian was able to get all of the salsa for his chips

He was in fine form at the table tonight

    Jack was ready to run

His Dwarf with Maul archetype is really working out–unless he gets one punched.

Richard is a very funny player–some great stuff out of him this week

Scott is back from Israel. His Monk Wizard is some amazing 5E min/maxing

I posted up on the corner–a four person Encounters session is a dream come true!

I had plenty of room to run my monk.

The other table is further along in the story then we are–and seem to be having a whole lot of fun.

The shop did not have any War Gamers tonight & seemed a lot less crowded.

    Our table was all smiles.

As we headed into more Gnoll Killing–we did also find a Red Wizard of Thay

    Some great mini action

    Scott’s is very classic

    Grian uses Dice for Gnolls.

My ninja & Scott’s Monk getting the beat down on the boss

    Brian had a great time.

This week started with Jeff expressing his opinion that the Beatles suck. Unfortunately, I did not catch it on tape, but basically his theory seemed to be that they simply copied other artists–like Jimi. It was amazing & awesome.
But before we could really get to the bottom of things we were distracted by Weird Al…and when I tried to describe the Al Yankovic vs Weird Al accordion issue, I simply confused matters further.
Basically, the perfect start to a game session.
DM Brian was in great form again this week–he prepared with amazing Desert Skittles and ran another combat intensive dungeon crawl–of course, I immediately split the party and had a total blast.
Thor continues his streak of amazing roles playing a fighter ranger. This week he also crushed Jack in Pokémon. Jack argues that he got lucky & may have been cheating…we can only wait for the rematch!
Jeff was on fire this week–great stories, epic D&D’ing and just having a great time.
Richard was a little late this week, but had another great hoodie & joined the boys for Pizza from next door–which he argues is great for the price.
Brandon did not think he was going to make it so he was late. He had to recreate his Cleric again this week–his new name is Francis. He was having a blast.
Jack, besides loosing to Thor & being one shot by a dual halberd wielding gnoll, appeared to have a pretty good time.
I am trying to invent a new photo style called the Floory. Here is a strong example of the genre.
I had plenty of room at the table this week.
The players are fairly distracted–no one is even sure what is going on in the story.
DM Brian does not take any goofing off at his table.
Our mini’s look really good this season.
We ran around fighting a lot of Gnolls.
    Richard purchased a tiny die.

Another fun night of D&D Encounters at Mercenary Market in Costa Mesa.

Jack has a job taking out the trash at his Grandma’s house. The key is to have the cans properly spaced so that she does not receive a note and, at the same time, not block Les’s mailbox on the left or the driveway on the right.

Waiting for feedback on this setup.

We hit Chipotle & got to the store with plenty of time to set up–but Brian was needed to DM!

    Good Lord!

    Jack has a Dwarf Fighter.

Richard was sitting pole position playing a Drow Rogue.

Thor was playing a Wood Elf Fighter Ranger.

Jeff had a High Elf Mage.

Brandon had a cleric that he built during the game.

I was using my white dice.

Brian bought a giant mat for use in the game.

I had the old character sheet, for Don Buri which I plan to rewrite this week and share my amazing D&DNext Ninja build.

The fight this night was an amazing battle–I think DM Brian had set us up for a TPK.

But luckily we brought a lot of Sunkist and were able to win the day.

    DM Brian was shocked.

  • Scourge of the Sword Coast–D&D Encounters S17 S5

I missed Encounters this week–Jack was having some eye pain & headaches from his new glasses.

But DM Curtis was there running–I am sure everyone had a blast.

    Scott looks ready.

he is using this fantastic minifig & frog mini–Voldemort!

    Pew-pew!

  • "Mother, do you think they will drop the bomb"

This is a 12, which is not that great, but it is magically hanging over the edge of the tile–welcome to another Week at the Bake

Brett is now rebuilding Bronco’s, which means he has a lot of cool cars at his house.

James got a lot of mini’s out before pizza was even ordered, so we knew it was going to be one of those nights.

Brett has his tier three dice out–in a basic reggae color.

DM James was in fine form–the story is really getting odd as we explore the kingdom of Ancient Giants in Eberron. The giants were obsessed with immortality and conducted all sorts of weird experiments–eternal children, who are very creepy, etc.

David is our resident rules master and he was ready to roll.

This weeks encounter was designed to nerf Cameron’s Fiddenmar whose Fey Taco has become our groups signature move–locking enemies down so that we can pick them off one by one.

Andrew’s Bemin continues to dominate in the Defender roll. This week I think he almost went down a few times while battling a raging Ur War Forged.

Brett’s Vassa is still dropping over 100 points of damage per round.

I am using an Express bag for my dice–I found this outside of a Starbucks with Rowan a long long time ago.

The map was a long hall way encounter in which no one really moved around all that much.

My new Shardmind is a monk and critted early this week–I had not done much char op so it did not do all that much damage, but it was fun.
