  • Elemental Evil–D&D Encounters S20 S13

Another great week of D&D Encounters at Comic quest!
This week started off with Lisa making Mexican food at home.
While we were eating Chase showed up with a ton of Nerf Guns for the kids–I mean like 12 guns!

    A pretty serious battle ensued!

We went to Nina’s Indian restaurant which was awesome–very old school. Stopped by Smart and Final for Skittles. And then drove over to the shop!

    There were four tables outside

All of which seemed fairly crowded!

Inside we had only one DM & nine players–but I still had plenty of room for the worlds greatest dice!

Chase had scored the Double Stuff Oreo’s

And we had a special visitor….MOUSE!

The game was a tower smash adventure against the cult of the water element–pretty fun fighting!

We had some really great Mini’s on the table. Here is the point where Regina’s Kalulu the Fire Genasi Sorcerer announces “Fireball, centered on the Monk”  for no reason!

    The Party goes wild!

I survived the attack just barely!

I ended up getting voted off of the Island again this week.

    Video should be up soon.

There were a high number of Crits this week!

  • Elemental Evil–D&D Encounters S20 S11

Another huge night of D&D Encounters after a I missed two in a row because of work….

Before the game we did a T-Shirt selfie contest

    Which was awesome.

Jack and I were a little late this week & the action was already on outside the shop at DM Camille’s table [he was filling in for DM Chris], and DM Chloe’s table which filled up and caused DM Spenser to be called in to run a second high level table!

DM Robert was fired up and ready to run.

Josh continues to play his Super Powered Druid–whose bear form is still likely the most optimized character at the table

Regina, Ben, and New Chris were also in fine form this week.

We also had Nepal, Brendan, & new Nathan

    as well as Josh.

we basically broke camp & continued on our way to the camp marked on the map we had acquired from the Sky Castle

    REAVERS!

Actually, they were more like Pirates…and our Goliath was able to mark them up and tie up about half of them.

The Reaver leader created a Cyclone which did a good job of slowing us down.

and we had some solid rolling

to our final victory in the fight–we did capture two prisoners which we will investigate next time!

I also found it funny this week that I had pre-entered my GroupMe Text Chat with the only obvious response to just about anything posted on a Wednesday night:

  • Crisis of the 12

Another great session of the Bake in Vandales garage!

the Future drawing hijinks are back

I took better notes again this week–there is a lot going on.

The snacks were out of control.

I am still playing K>U>B>A the Monk–the latest in a long line of Shardminds that I have played during this campaign.

Cameron is back with a female dwarf cleric–very weird build.

Andrews Bemin is finally starting to be revieled to be the villian he is and/or may be.

Brett has his ganger regularly doing 150 points per round.

    James was in fine form.

Brett scored a righteous Fun Dip!

The temple of the Silver Flame was burnt down–again–by Devils. We were able to rescue Leviticus & Marcus.

I think that Andrew is the only one who rolled a crit, those James rolled very well with my dice!

  • So Much Guac! Elemental Evil–D&D Encounters S20 S8

Another great week of D&D Encounters at Comic Quest!

Chase stopped by for some Lemonade to get the night started–we told funny IT stories on the porch on a beautiful day

It started off with Amazon delivering Chinese Feathers–I think my wife may be trying to start the next influenza plague!

There was some talk of a weird steam punk tattoo–I am not sure what is going on here

We had mall sushi which was a blast even thought Jeffery tried to scam the shop with expired coupons!

The shop was packed with players–our table was in a great mood

It was Ben’s birthday so we sang happy birthday to him–even though I did not get a picture of him!

Our new players are doing awesome.

Regina brought extra chips and salsa

    and the worlds greatest guacamole!

Again this week, I felt like there was plenty of room at the table to spread out:

and my dice were in fine form!

DM Robert had built a fantastic encounter

We had a ton of crits this week–Regina is rolling Sorry style inside the Chessex box:

    Ben nailed this birthday Crit!

    Brendan scored two crits

and this is actually a crit in a stupid Low Roll Wins Survivor rule we created

My character Pepto Bismo was voted off the island again!

  • Eagles, Magots, Ketchup, Mexican Food, and Failed Survivor

Though I am showing no improvement at using Pano on my iPhone to capture the room, I did have a great night at D&D Encounters at Comic Quest in El Toro–it was Secret Wars Kickoff day, which was not nearly as big a deal as I thought it would be, but still a great night of D&D.

We had two DMs–above you see Robert with a Coke in his hand–Camille is kneeling by Brendan next to Jack next to Ben by Regina…not sure what happened to Josh’s face, but the Mountain Dew can came out great!

Camille made a great DM Head Band!We had lots of candy…

The shop is still running two games out side & the games inside are going great–we did have a wonderful Hugo Conversation before the start of play, as well as argued about the Bearded C

which is correctly called a ccedilla.

Brian showed up a little late & he and Jack once again had a blast…Jack was unable to identify this image

which cost Jack all of this RP1 points!

Running with two DM’s was great–one did the RP and the other did Combat & both of them scored crits in their own way!

This hand crafted battle mat was amazing–a hand drawn map of the castle–ultimate infinite DIY points!

Pepto Bismo was a star–snuck in and lower the draw bridge!

We ended the session prepared for a big battle on the stairs!

    A very fun week!

We voted Jack off during the Survivor portion of the game–this is the second time he has been sent home!

  • Loudest Bird Ever @ DM Summit

I left my desk, which is starting to come together to have lunch at UCI with the Comic Quest DM’s.

there was this very very loud bird.

Chloe highlights her book A LOT

The DMs are all doing great & the story is progressing–Chloe, Spencer, Chris, & Camille were all there and discussed their plans for tonight. Attendance was down a little last week, so tonight may be interesting.

Also, Camille told a story about cleaning out a ketchup dispenser that was clogged with maggots that will gross me out for infinity.
