    I bought this at Alakazam.

It was well done & fun. I loved the line about five Beatles.

Sad to see this series end.

The Story: (hide) No one can stop Colossus! The Juggernaut has become Kuurth, Breaker of Stone, one of the Worthy. Now more powerful than ever, one of the X-Men’s greatest enemies rampages through San Francisco. To stop him, Colossus makes a deal with the demon lord Cytorrak—the being that imbued Juggernaut with his power. Can this deal be one Colossus can back out of at the fight’s end? Prepare for the clash of two unstoppable forces! Part 4 (of 4).

    I bought this at Alakazam.

I read this at home on a Sunday. I read it again to Kate on the porch.

A great comic–the aftermath of Magic’s manipulation. Summers trying to act like he had it under control by beating up the mayor. Everything about this book is great–I am starting to change my song on Gillen after these four Fear Itself issues–issues that taught me more about Fear Itself then anything else I read–I completely missed Schism, which did not happen in any X-Books.

    So silly.

Also, I continue to like Lands art.

And the Mariner/Emma thing was handled very well.

    A good book.

Yet another great Rick Remender comic–totally awesome story telling from start to finish. Great great great.

I am actually ashamed to admit how much I am loving a comic with Deadpool in it.

    I bought this at Alakazam.

I read it at home on a Sunday.

I am loving this story–I like Angle transformed. I like the pacing–everything about it just feels right. Rick is a total stud playing a very smooth hand.

I just hope that much of what he is doing here trickles into the other X-Books which seem to be struggling so badly right now.

The Story: (hide) FEAR ITSELF has brought damage and destruction the likes of which the Marvel Universe has never seen but it has also brought two avengers together in the most surprising way. Be here for the start of an all-new chapter in the lives of two of the most controversial Avengers!

I got this Alakazam about two weeks late. I read it at home on a Sunday.

I am getting this for Jack.

I did not like this at all–seems like this issue forgot all of the stuff that had gone on last issue–the cover is misleading & nothing is going on that would want me to keep reading.

I am uniquely annoyed by Wolverine’s appearance in this.

The Story: (hide) Years ago, Wolverine helplessly watched as Jean Grey, the love of his life, died before his eyes. Years later, he would lose his best-friend Nightcrawler to a similar fate. In order to save our world, can he allow them to die again? X-Force team up with The Amazing X-Men for the final push against the heir of Apocalypse, in a battle Royale that will force Wolverine to make the hardest choice of his life. One world must die!

I bought this at Alakazam. I read it at home about a week after I picked it up–just been a busy end of summer.

Another fantastic issue from Remender. Not sure who the other author is or what he is doing here.

The art. Fantastic return to form–really great great stuff.

I loved this story–I love Psylocke being all prepared and planning and practicied–just awesome.

I love Holocaust & his destruction of the small town.

I really like the way Warren is acting, kind of like an evil Dr Manahattan–just way above the fray–making people treat him normal, destroying tradition for fun. Just really excellent writing.

I am very excited to see how this arc turns out.

The Story: (hide) The Dark Angel Saga: Part 3 Years ago, Wolverine helplessly watched as Jean Grey, the love of his life, died before his eyes.

I picked this up at Alakazam. I did not read it for about a month. Not sure why–I have really been enjoying this series.

This issue was great–more Age of Apocalypse stuff. There is a good alternative cover for this which lacks the style of the normal cover, but captures the spirit of the series very well

Fantomex’s psychic redirection trick is used once to often in this book.

The character interaction between Jean and Logan is great–but I could have used more dialog with the bad guys–maybe more of the ‘plan’ rather then the simple we are AoA and taking over!

  • Uncanny X-Men (1963) #542

    Writer: Kieron Gillen

    Penciller (cover): Greg Land

    Orig. Published: August 17, 2011

The Story: (hide) FEAR ITSELF TIE-IN! The situation is becoming increasingly clear: there is literally nothing which can avert Juggernaut is marching step by step towards Utopia. However, an offer by the Serpent’s servant puts human and mutant at each others’ throats. In the third part of the epic Fear Itself confrontation, the enemy within is as big a threat as the enemy without. The clock is ticking. And for one X-Man, it’s already too late.

I picked this up at Alakazam. I read it at Peets.

Great issue–the power combo attempts to take down Juggernaut are great–even the numbering of the plans is awesome. The Mayors military betrayal is well written. Scott acknowledging that there are so few of us left–this will be his undoing. Emma going to smother Hope with a pillow. All of that is well handled.

And the return to form of Magik. Still one of my favorite mutants from the moment I met her–she is great here. A very clever girl with super skills. I very much enjoyed this issue from start to finish.

And the letters column! That was some great spin on the reboot–a very good issue all the way around.
