  • Goblins at the Gates & Little Caesar delivers

Keys From The Golden Vault, live from Alakazam Comics in Irvine, CA, continues this week with the fifth heist, Tockworth’s Clockworks. However, before we get to that The Feline Five defends the Azorius Senate ramparts from a strange Goblin Clockwork army–with sentient ladders! After which they receive their briefing (and reward from the last heist), head into the Golgari sewers, and travel to the Underdark.

Carolus Rex the Eyeless (Paladin played by Adam) is based on Scarecrow. Filled member of the Golden Vault.
Ice Cube (Rogue played by Josh) is Mr Frosts henchmen. New to the Golden Vault, he meet the party while trying to sell ice on Ravnica.
Julie Newman (Ranger played by Lance) is Ra’s al Ghul. Plated member of the Golden Vault.
Snow on the Mountain (Fighter played by Lewis) is mentored by Two-Face. Plated member of the Golden Vault.
Swallow the River (Cleric played by Brian) is a follower of Zoltec the Crocodile god of death from Chult. Filled member of the Golden Vault.
Top Card (Rogue played by Glenn) is Cat Women without the slapstick. Filled member of the Golden Vault.

I let the players run the Goblins, which was fun.

  • Purity

Do you know that often a root has split a rock when allowed to remain in it? Give no place to the seed of evil, seeing that it will break up your faith.

  • Going to Meet the Man by James Baldwin, Dion Graham (Narrator)

Going to Meet the ManGoing to Meet the Man by James Baldwin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy COW! How great of a writer was Baldwin? Short stories that simply kill. And do not even really prepare you for the final story, which is just too damn much. This is a huge book by a great writer that I strongly recommend.

  • Holy Scripture

All who ask receive, those who seek find, and to those who knock it shall be opened. Therefore, let us knock at the beautiful garden of Scripture. It is fragrant, sweet, and blooming with various sounds of spiritual and divinely inspired birds. They sing all around our ears, capture our hearts, comfort the mourners, pacify the angry, and fill us with everlasting joy.
    – St John of Damascus.

  • Prayer

Fasting is the soul of prayer, mercy is the lifeblood of fasting. So if you pray, fast’ if you fast, show mercy; if you want your petition to be heard, hear the petition of others. If you do not close your ear to others, you open God’s ear to yourself.
    — St Peter Chrysologus

  • Our Crosses in Life

Apart from the cross, there is no other ladder by which we may get to heaven.
