  • Run for Roses

Run,run, run for the roses, the bigger it opens, the sooner it closes.
Meddle, meddle, friend of mine, all good things in all good time.

Reach for the sun, catch hold of the moon.
That ball too heavy, but what can you do.
Reach for the stars, smack into the sky.
You don’t want to live but you’re chicken to die.
    Ohhh, you’re chicken to die.

Run, run, run for the roses, the bigger it opens the sooner it closes.
Meddle, meddle, friend of mine, all good things in all good time.

Run for the money, caught short on the rent.
Big ideas, but the cash is all spent.
The trouble with love is it’s on vase.
You just want a cup, but you don’t want to race.
No, you don’t want to race.

Run,run, run for the roses, the bigger it opens, the sooner it closes.
Meddle, meddle, friend of mine, all good things in all good time.

Run for the roses, get caught on the briar.
You wanted to love, next thing there’s a fire.
You got the Do Re, I got the Mi.
I got the notion we’re all at sea.
    Yes, we’re all at sea.

Run, run, run for the roses, the bigger it opens, the sooner it closes.
Meddle, meddle, friend of mine, all good things in all good time.

I really, really belive that elegant and graceful interpretation of the cosmos create a more graceful and elegant cosmos.

A midget fortune-teller who escapes from prison is a small medium at large.

  • Ken Wilber

I have one major rule: everybody is right. More specifically, everybody—including me—has some important pieces of the truth, and all of those pieces need to be honored, cherished, and included in a more gracious, spacious, and compassionate embrace.

Blake said, ‘The eagle never lost so much time as when he submitted to learn from the crow’. I’d like to won a crow, I think that would be an excellent pet.

  • Surah VII 176

And if We had pleased, We would certainly have exalted him thereby; but he clung to the earth and followed his low desire, so his parable is as the parable of the dog; if you attack him he lolls out his tongue; and if you leave him alone he lolls out his tongue; this is the parable of the people who reject Our communications; therefore relate the narrative that they may reflect.

It was cloudy when I got out, so I decided to stay out until the weather improved. Lots of fish and dolphins in the water – there was no surf so I spent a lot of time watching the birds and stuff. Got into the meditative zone several times. Had a few nice rides on very small waves.

Suddenly, there were lots of jellyfish, so I paddled in. I did not get stung, but I did worry about it a lot.

Not a great day, but I am stoked that I went – afterward I listened to Prem Chodron discuss moving from Fear to Fearlessness – a very nice talk.

  • Georges Perec

Spaces have multiplied, been broken up, and have diversified. There are spaces today of every kind and every size, for every use and every function. To live is to pass from one space to another, while doing your very best not to bump yourself.

  • Lewis Carrol

He had bought a large map representing the sea,
Without the least vestige of land:
And the crew were much pleased when they found it to be
A map they could all understand.

“What’s the good of Mercator’s North Poles and Equators,
    Tropics, Zones and Meridian Lines?”
So the Bellman would cry: and the crew would reply,
    “They are merely conventional signs!”

“Other maps are such shapes, with teir islands and capes!
But we’ve got our brave Captain to thank”
(So the crew would protest) “that he’s bought us the best–
    A perfect and abolute blank!”
