A.T. Greenblatt is a mechanical engineer by day and a writer by night. She is the author of over two dozen science fiction and fantasy short stories and her piece “Give the Family My Love” won the 2019 Nebula Award for Best Short Story.
“mosaicked”, the past tense of the verb to mosaic just seems odd. Sure in a story about rock magic it may make some sense, but a strange word never the less.
“All the best things are hidden in the heart” nice foreshadowing–good connection to the title, easy writing and it works.
Couple of nice encounters, I liked she knew how to read the runes cause she was old. Overall solid start.
