David Given Schwarm

I bought this Friday at the Borders at the District. I picked it up to read to Kate and Jack. They love it–Kate is really into the Mary Marvel character–she is even waking up acting like her! Jack is getting into the puzzles and the magic of the story telling. I really like the book as well.
I have been working mostly with the images of Shoes. They take off their shoes to walk into the holy space of the Wizard’s cave. The shoe is knocked of Billy’s foot by the Alligator tail strike. The foot prints in the park. In fact, the image of the shoe–a circle and triangle strikes me as very very deliberate. I am going to enjoy reading this for a long time.
I am also very likely to go back and pick up the other Jeff Smith stuff which I have not really looked out since the Dave Sim collaboration a long time ago.
