Yesterday, Tyler gave this album to me. He burned it & labeled it. He even wrote all the tracks on the cd case insert. There is something about getting cd’s as gifts that makes me incredibly happy. I mean it is just the greatest thing in the world. The album itself is very good – not as good as Illinoise, which may be a good thing – the series is getting stronger – but still a fantastic albums. And one of those albums that is better to listen to on a cloudy rainy day, like we have been having.
I have not spent much time with the record yet – about 20 minutes driving to work yesterday – so I do not know all the lyrics and themes, but the general feel of the album is that brilliant Spectre / Love wall of sound pop beat. There are strings. I just love that kind of stuff.
I cannot wait for the next record by this guy.
