Rabbit Walk :: October 14, 2005

Last night we saw 4 rabits.

There was one large one that I spotted right before the tennis courts – on the grass near the lake on the way down the final hill. It was a large one that ran down and towards the safety of the bushes. It then stopped and waited for us to walk closer. We could all see its white tail. It ran six more feet down the hill before jumping into the bushes.

The Next one was spotted by Jack running across the sidewalk into the safety of the bushes. He appeared to have come out of the tennis courts. He was fairly large and running very fast. Jack was stoked. “did you see it!” I did.

Lisa spotted the next one. No one else saw it, but we belived her.

The last one Jack spotted in the Baseball Field by the Middle school. A huge rabbit just standing there looking into the parking lot. I am not even sure how Jack saw this one – we usually do not see rabbits here, it was very dark & hard to see, and we were doing a lot of other things when Jack saw it. Lisa and I were amazed that he was able to find it.

for some reason this reminds me of the time a teacher in grade school turned to me and said “Dave, can you help look – you have good eyes…wait no you don’t”. It was at this moment in third grade that I realized the everyone was full of shite, lying to me, blowing sunshine – and that my abilities were not perfect. Also, I had been mostly lying about needing glasses so that I could get out of school – I learned that there were implications to my fibbing – that I could have negetative impact on others perception of me.
